MICRONEEDLING
Micro-needling, which is also called medical skin needling, or Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), is the most advanced way to improve the look of your skin right now.

InnoPEN is one of the few Health Canada-approved microneedling devices. The InnoPEN’s tiny needles are designed to gently penetrate the skin and stimulate the regrowth process of collagen and elastin. These two proteins are found naturally in the body, and they can be used to improve the skin’s appearance and give it back its shape, elasticity, and glow.

Procedure Duration & Treatment Intervals
Duration
A normal micro-needling session lasts around an hour, though this time varies based on the area being treated.
Intervals
A single micro-needling session may be all that’s needed to address issues like fine lines and wrinkles or skin tone irregularities. At least three sessions are required to induce the perfect amount of collagen production. Filling in and repairing deeper pockmarks or acne scars could need three to eight sessions.
The Procedure
We start off with a 20-min consultation to address your skin’s needs with our professionally trained micro-needling technician.
After we determine our treatment plan, we will begin our micro-needling session by double cleansing the skin with an oil-based cleanser or micellar water to remove any makeup or sunscreen. The second wash helps to remove toxins and other germs that are invisible to the naked eye.
A topical numbing cream will then be applied, This reduces the risk of discomfort throughout the session, allowing us to employ a needle depth of 1.0 to 1.5 mm without causing any irritation.
Once the numbing agent has taken full effect, the micro-needling treatment is then performed by our highly-trained technician with a InnoPEN micro-needling device.
The treatment is then finished off with a moisturizing mask, helping relieve any inflammation and hydrate the skin.
Upon leaving, you will be provided with at-home instructions that will help you take care of your skin and enhance the final results.
What To Expect After
Day 1:
Your skin may seem red and flushed immediately after the treatment, similar to a slight sunburn, however this will dissipate within a few hours.
After 24 hours, you may clean your face as usual. Apply makeup, lotions, and other topical products as you normally would, avoiding products containing glycolic acids as they can leave the skin feeling extremely dry.
Avoid the sun and use a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30.
Day 2–7:
You will notice your skin feels tight, dry and flakey within 2 days of your micro-needling session.
This is due to a faster rate of skin cell turnover. Applying your daily moisturizer during this time will help with dry skin. Your skin will begin to shed after a few days. This is only temporary. These are skin layers that would typically shed over a 7-day period, but micro-needling causes them to come to the surface sooner.
Once your skin is no longer irritated, you can use all of your usual skin care products again.
Day 7+
Most clients notice that their skin is smoother and more radiant a week after the medical micro-needling procedure.
Continue to use sunscreen every day and reapply every 2 hours if you are spending time outside.
